Gathara Consulting Engineers supervises field geotechnical investigations. Geotechnical Investigations are carried out to determine how stable or sturdy a ground is to safely carry a structure. They are carried out via drilling boreholes and/or trial pits on an existing site; and thereafter the soil samples are analysed in a laboratory for various parameters. A report is then issued with the design recommendations for the various ground conditions; as well as recommendations of the suitable foundations and bearing capacities. We recommend that all sites have a geotechnical investigation carried out prior to commencement of design of the substructure/foundations.
